Nestled in a little corner of the Kāpiti Coast – a 1952 Railway Carriage; a piece of Wellington’s Johnsonville Line rail history. Refurbished in Art Deco style to capture the atmosphere of yesteryear.

Menus can be designed to meet your specific needs or you can choose from our carefully selected menus. This includes menus which reflect those enjoyed on some of the great train journeys of the world. We operate a fully licensed Bar and can accommodate BYO. We can organise to have your party collected by private bus hire and returned at the end of your function.  In addition we can arrange for musicians to compliment your function.

Meet Chris Evans

Blue Train is owned and run by Chris Evans who has passion for days gone-by: classic cars, cocktails, good food, good wine and good company.

Chris has had over 30 magical years in the hospitality profession, this commenced in London Restaurants, Hotels and Theatres. Chris expanded his experiences seeking adventure in Europe, the USA and Asia prior to moving to New Zealand.

Previous experience in London Hotels, Restaurants and Casinos including:

• The Dorchester

• The Royal Garden hotel Kensington

• Chicken Shed Theatre

With a passion for good food and wine along with style and an enjoyment for life, Chris is a great believer that the best ingredients for a great night is the range of personalities the guests bring to the event. He has travelled throughout Europe, Asia, America and Oceania. Malt Whisky lover, Classic Car fanatic, Football fan and now attempting the game of Golf to shocked onlookers. Jazz enthusiast and Adventurer, Chris is committed to making your Blue Train experience a memorable one.
